chatty post-spring band concert

Why hello there! Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! I’m sorry I haven’t been too active on here and my socials. I have been really busy because last night was my bands spring concert!

This post is going to be a little different from my other posts. No graphics or anything really, just me talking about life and the concert and stuff. I didn’t really get to take any pictures so hopefully, it’s not too boring. 😀

so grab some popcorn or a snack and read the post!!

sping band concert

✧post concert✧

before the concert, we all went to a room to put our instruments together, warm up and make sure all our notes were okay. I play clarinet so It took me a little longer than some of the other kids to put together my instrument.

So there are three groups;

Beginners

Intermediate

and Advanced.

I’m in the Beginner group but in the fall I will be moving into the Intermediate group.

In my group, there are about 9 kids? Two Clarinets, (including me) Three Sax’s,(my brother) Three low bras, a trumpet (my lil brother) and yeet that’s all.

I’m kind of friends with everyone in the group, but my closest friends are Gaby and Gaby.

Yes, they have the same name. We were going to call one Brie and the Other Gaby but Its just really hard for me to keep track of names so I call both of them Gaby.

I am also close with Claire, she’s my fellow Clarinetist, we are the only clarinets. She’s a little younger than me and really sweet.

Then my brothers of course.

I’m not really friends with the low brass cliche that much, but one of the guys is my secret twin because we are born on the same day and the same year and we are both the exact same age, so YEET.

Yeah I dunno why I keep saying yeet so much, I just love it!

SO after that, we formed a line to walk onto the stage thingy, I guess I was the leader of the group which meant I had to lead everyone onto the stage which was terrifying.

The beginner band went first.

Even though this wasn’t my first band concert, I was very nervous because this time we had to stand up for solos and bow, meaning that the stand would no longer be able to hide my face and keep me anonymous so that no one had to know that I, Ava was the girl who kept squeaking on her clarinet.

Also sorry for this post being messy, I just really wanted to keep it simple and “chatty”

✧during the concert✧

So we all sat down, adjusted our stands (aka positioned the stands so that no one could see our faces)

The first song we played was called Buglers Dream, Its an Olympic anthem and sounds really pretty.

Then we had the first set of solos.

I did a solo which I was very worried about because it had a kind of difficult note in it.

I don’t even remember how it went because I think I played it too fast. oOf

Then we played engines of change, its a really cool song.

Then there was another set of solos, including the woodwind solo, (which I was apart of)

It was an adaptation of Erie Canal, which is actually a song I used to sing when I was little.

I HAVE A MULE her NAME IS SAL 15 miles DOWN THE ERIE CANAL.

Of course, it sounded way better than five-year-old me trying to sing

Then we finished with the song Bandroom Boogie. I felt really happy because everything sounded mostly good. We were playing real songs. Last year we played simple songs like Twinkle Twinkle and Mary Had a Little Lamb. I was so proud of myself because I had improved so much and I had overcome so big struggles I had with the clarinet.

Then the Intermediate and the Advanced played their songs and they sounded really awesome. Plus they had flutes and percussion so everything sounded more… magical?

then it ended,

✧after the concert✧

After the concert, there were some snacks and cookies and drinks out. My friends and I all congratulated each other and made vine references. I dropped my cookies. Twice.

YOU ALMOST MADE ME DROP MY CROISSANT *cookie*

IT was all fun and jolly. After a half hour of eating, talking about vines (and tom holland my precious spidey boi) we left.

The concert went really well, and it shows me that hard work and pushing through really has a great outcome.

My little clarinet has taught me so much these past few months and I love it a lot.

Thank you so much for reading my little chatty post, If you liked it please tell me, I think I would like to do this again. It’s so relaxing just typing up my thoughts and not worrying about making a “perfect and professional’ blog post.

✧do you guys play any instruments?✧ have you ever been in a concert? what’s your favorite instrument?✧

positively positive//how to stay positive even when it’s hard

Copy of why hello there!

Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! Today’s post is going to be about staying positive, even when it can be challenging.

I am not going to lie, It has been really hard to be positive this month. I had so many goals and To-Do’s and amazing things I wanted to accomplish, but everything gets in the way and everything goes wrong. For example, yesterday I planned on planning today’s blog post so I could spend today working on my overdue podcast episode and catching back up on Camp Nano. Of course, my perfect plan didn’t work out. So now, I am rushing trying to write this blog post, doing schoolwork, posting overdue pictures, working on an overdue podcast episode.

Also practicing for my easter performance and youth worship.

If you can’t tell I am very stressed out.

There are two ways I can handle my stress and frustration.

  1. Bask in the frustration and procrastinate.

Or

2. Acknowledge what went wrong and still work on your projects.

What do you think is a better choice? I think Number 2 is the best choice.

Even though staying negative is obviously a lot easier, in the end, it makes things harder. But, staying positive can help you accomplish more things and stay on top of your projects.

If you are feeling negative and stressed when working on something, it’s okay to take a break. During your break, work on a different aspect of your project, or on a different project that might be easier to do. That way you won’t waste any extra time during your day.

It can be a challenge to stay positive but in the end, it always benefits you!

pros of being positive+

+ positive people will feel happier

+ positive people will do better on assignments and tests

+positive leaders are able to make better decisions under pressure

+Positive people are able to maintain a broader perspective and see the big picture which helps them identify solutions whereas negative people maintain a narrower perspective and tend to focus on problems.

+Positive work environments outperform negative work environments.

Are Positivity and Negativity a personality?

No. Positivity and Negativity are both choices you can make. You can choose to be positive and you can choose to be negative. For every emotion, you feel you can make a choice to feel them or not. When I choose to be positive, even when I feel negative I can learn to control my emotions. I am a very emotional person and I am not good at hiding my feelings (thanks to my awesome acting skills uwu) But I can choose to stay positive by putting positive thoughts in my head.

Positive thoughts.

The key to staying positive is to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. Imagine you are in a case against your brain. You are your lawyer and you are defending yourself. You have the evidence about what is true about you. (does this make sense xD?)

If negativity tells you that you look bad today, tell yourself that you look good and that it’s in the inside that matters.

If negativity tells you that your acne looks bad, remember that there are some people that have facial deformities and remember that you are BLESSED ( beautiful, loved, excellent, saved, special, Enough, dandy)

If negativity tells you that you are unworthy of Gods love, remember that God will always love you and is waiting for you with open arms, ready for you to repent and come back to him.

Positivity Pointers- (tips for staying positive)

Here are some ways to stay positive.

Praise and worship. Don’t complain. Focus on someone else instead of myself~ Madison Grace

Don’t make a mountain out of a molehill.

Inspire others and that will inspire yourself

Count your blessings

I hope these tips helped you! Thank you so much for reading my post! Have a great day!

TAG-ATHON: in which I finally do a few tags PT one

why hello there!

Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! And if you are new here, WELCOME! I recommend that you check out my about page and leave a comment in the guestbook 😀

Today’s post is a TAG-ATHON! In which I finally respond to the blog tags.

First of all, sorry for the late tag answers!

I have quite a hard time staying a top of my blog, so blog tags are definitely not my best suit. But they are quite a lot of fun once I get to them!

The first tag I will do is the Liebster award! Which the awesome Tess nominated me for!

(thanks so much!)

liebster award rules

What was your favorite TV show/movie when you were a kid? Well, when I was from ages 0-5 I loved sesame street and the big comfy couch. Then when I was around 4-6 I loved Barney. I loved stuff with puppets and interactive dancing and stuff! Then when I got a little older I started to like my little pony, but then I stopped watching it because of the “magical witch-craft” So yeah, I hope that equals an answer?

What is something you think everyone should do at least once in their lives? This is a real tough one. I think everyone should either create their own kind of art or read a book. I don’t know which one to choose so I will go with a combination of both. (if that’s allowed?) Oof 😀

What do you think is the best way to start the day? With a warm cup of tea. Tea is refreshing and cleansing and quite delicious!

What is one of your favorite smells? The smell of apple cider or honey OR PEPPERMINT.

If you were suddenly put on a stage and told to deliver a speech, what would you talk about? Hmmmm maybe my original characters and how books are best friends.

Do you think Wikipedia is a reliable source? Uh Maybe.

What’s the worst advice you’ve ever received? To stay calm, even though everyone knows I can NEVER STAY CALM.

What age would you like to live to? around 80…?

What do you want carved on your gravestone? Ava was an artsy bookish queen that obsessed over the man on the 10 dollar bill. Just kidding. I would probably want, Ava the sweetest creative daughter.
Have you ever saved someone’s life? I think…

Opinion on chow mein? YUMMYYYYY! Chow and Loi mein are REALLY GOOD.

11 random facts about moi

1. I’m weird

2. I like books

3. I obsess over founding fathers *cough* and sing songs about them

4. I went to college at age 12 and took two classes

5. I like to make animations

6. I wanted to start a business and I have so many ideas it hurts

7. i love older eras like 90s 80s 70s 60s
