If you hadn’t noticed, fall is my favorite season! Not only is it my birthday season, but it’s filled with beautiful colors, lovely smells, and delicious treats. I love wearing sweaters and boots and scarves and crunching on leaves everywhere I walk!

So I haven’t blogged since early August, which is kind of a long time ago! A lot of stuff happened since then and one of my favorite things I did in August was my trip to Florida! My parents surprised my siblings and me with a trip to Flordia. We went to Discovery Cove and got to swim with dolphins and go snorkeling. We also went to Sea World and got to see Orcas and other sea creatures, And I went on a few thrilling rides with my Dad and one of my brothers.

Oh, and I met my childhood superheroes, at there Seasame Street themed play park section. Yes. I, Ava who is terrified of most costumed mascots, was not afraid to hug a bunch of furry monsters. And they even had a Theatre with musical parodies!

That was one of my favorite things I did that summer!

5 easy ways to boost productivity! + free to-do list printable

Copy of why hello there!

Welcome back to my itsy bitsy corner of the web! Or if your new here, thanks for checking out my blog. You can find more about me here!

Today’s post is all about how to boost productivity and get more done in less time.

lets get started to

1. Set a Timer

Estimate the time you need to tackle different tasks and set a timer for each of your tasks. When it comes to the time limit, move on to another task.

2. Eliminate All Distractions

I recommend putting your phone on airplane mode or turning off your notifications. If you’re using a computer to work on a project close out all the other applications. Try to go to a quiet place or alert the people around you to not bother you.

3. Listen to Music

Distractions should be avoided, but sometimes a bit of music in the background can help you focus.

Of course, it doesn’t need to be the Hamilton cast recording on full blast, but a bit of Beethoven may do you some good. If you’re not a fan of classical music, there are plenty of relaxing, lofi study playlists on youtube. The songs are really nice and it does help you focus.

4. Take a break from technology

The Internet has become one of the number one distraction. To increase your productivity, try to do as much of your work offline as possible.

I find it easier to brainstorm with pen and paper than on a notes app, because not only is it relaxing, it’s easier to stay focused on.

5. Just Start

Often times, starting is the hardest part. People often wait for the perfect time to start a project, but usually, there is no perfect time, and they are really just procrastinating and they never start.

Once you get started, you will quickly get into a rhythm that could last for hours!

The last thing I have for you guys is a little printable to-do list/ planner. This is great for jotting down things to do and planning your day out.

Get it done girl!click here to download!

summer-goals-blogging.png

grow my audience: I want to grow my audience more and stay more consistent on my blog and my socials

☆Make summer themed lifestyle posts: I want to make more summer lifestyle posts. If you have any ideas, comment down below!

Host blogging activity: I have always wanted to do this! Hopefully this summer I can 😀

☆ Start my blog design business! (I’m starting it sometime in June)

☆ Start Youtube Channel: I have always wanted to do this, Hopefully, it will be live sometime in August!

☆ Post three times a week: I want to make my blog exciting and have new posts more frequently

summer goals reading

☆ Read Less: I actually want to read less this summer. Last summer I read 50 books, but this summer I only want to read 25. I want to spend more time outside and with my friends and family, instead of chilling in my room and spending the whole day reading.

☆Read more nonfiction: I read way too much fiction. Fiction is amazing, but I also want to develop more skills this summer and learn more. So I am going to try to read at least 10 nonfiction books.

☆Get ahead of my TBR list: There are so many books that I haven’t read that I really want to read. This summer I want to read some of those books.

summer-goals-writing.png

☆ Draft the rest of my novel: I wrote a bit of my novel during Camp Nano and I really want to finish it. I love the story so much and I hope that it can become published. I plan to work on it a little bit this summer.

☆ Write every day: I started a diary a while back and I want to finish it and start writing every day again.

☆ Write more poetry: I love writing poetry, but I haven’t really had a lot of time for it. I want to work on it this summer.

summer-goals-school-1.png

☆ Study More: In the fall I am going into high school and I want to make sure that I study during the summer so I won’t forget everything I learned before.

☆ Practice Math: Math is not my best friend, so I want to do some math warm-ups every day.

☆Sign up for college classes: I got accepted into two colleges’ College Credit Plus program, so I want to spend some time picking out the classes I want to take in fall.

summer-goals-lifestyle.png

☆ Get my nails painted: I got a nail salon certificate for Christmas and thought it would be perfect to use in the summer. I’m thinking about painting them yellow, or white.

☆ Take some morning runs: I want to start running every morning, and exercising a bit more.

☆ Make some money: I am saving up for a Mac, and new camera and an Ipad Pro. I want to start some buisness and make some money during the summer to go towards my savings and so I can have some extra cash.

☆ Volunteer: I really want to volunteer at the library or the animal shelter. I think it will be a fun way to help support organizations I love.

☆ Spend more time with friends: I have a lot of great friends, but sometimes I don’t always get to spend time with them, because of everyone’s schedules. I hope to spend more time with them and develop deeper friendships with them

☆ Go thrifting: I have found some really cute clothes and local thrift shops and I hope to go there again with one of my friends that are obsessed with vintage clothing.

☆ Learn More French: I love french, and I want to really take some time to learn it.

summer-goals-music.png

☆Practice more piano: I love the piano, and now that I am a worship leader in my youth group, I want to be the best pianist I can be.

☆Practice Clarinet: I love clarinet and I want to practice it so I can do well when I go into the intermediate group.

☆ Write songs: I love singing and songwriting and I really want to write a song.

☆ Use my uke: I don’t always use my ukelele and I want to use it more this summer.

☆ Learn some French songs: I think this will be a fun way to practice French.

summer-goals-fun.png

☆ Go to the movies: A lot of great movies are coming out and it would be really fun to go to the movie theatre to see them.

☆ See a musical: I love musicals and I would love to see one!

☆Go to the beach or swimming: I would really love to go to the pool or the beach.

☆ Go to the funfest: Our city has a fun festival every summer and I would love to go with one of my friends.

we all scream for ice cream

Why hello there! Happy (late) Memorial Day!

Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! Recently I went to Mitchell’s ice cream and went on a little tour! I thought it would be cool to share some pictures of it!

(Also I am sorry that I haven’t been posting recently. I am in a little blogging block so if this post seems stiffer than usual that’s probably why :D)

lets get started

19-05-26-19-22-08-946_deco1478220711.jpg

There are a lot of Mitchells locations in Ohio, but for the tour, we went to the Ohio City location. It originally was a movie theatre so it still has this little sign! I thought it was really cute the way it said now serving!

19-05-26-19-21-38-402_deco2109423870.jpg19-05-26-19-21-26-389_deco197699122.jpg

I really loved the design of the shop. It had this really cute industrial and minimalist aesthetic.

19-05-26-19-22-50-050_deco1645200406.jpg

Then they showed us how they made the ice cream and behind the scenes in the factory. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a lot of good pictures of this part.

19-05-26-19-22-27-276_deco2115442404.jpg

After the tour, we got some ice cream! I tried out a new flavor; Lavender honey. It was amazing! It tasted almost like vanilla but like lavender? I don’t even know how you taste lavender but it was delicious!

19-05-26-19-20-57-708_deco85572042.jpg

Yum!

Mitchell’s is one of my favorite ice cream shops! I recommend trying them out if you need something yummy to cool you down on a hot summer day. But beware, sometimes their lines are so long it goes around the whole store!

chatty post-spring band concert

Why hello there! Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! I’m sorry I haven’t been too active on here and my socials. I have been really busy because last night was my bands spring concert!

This post is going to be a little different from my other posts. No graphics or anything really, just me talking about life and the concert and stuff. I didn’t really get to take any pictures so hopefully, it’s not too boring. 😀

so grab some popcorn or a snack and read the post!!

sping band concert

✧post concert✧

before the concert, we all went to a room to put our instruments together, warm up and make sure all our notes were okay. I play clarinet so It took me a little longer than some of the other kids to put together my instrument.

So there are three groups;

Beginners

Intermediate

and Advanced.

I’m in the Beginner group but in the fall I will be moving into the Intermediate group.

In my group, there are about 9 kids? Two Clarinets, (including me) Three Sax’s,(my brother) Three low bras, a trumpet (my lil brother) and yeet that’s all.

I’m kind of friends with everyone in the group, but my closest friends are Gaby and Gaby.

Yes, they have the same name. We were going to call one Brie and the Other Gaby but Its just really hard for me to keep track of names so I call both of them Gaby.

I am also close with Claire, she’s my fellow Clarinetist, we are the only clarinets. She’s a little younger than me and really sweet.

Then my brothers of course.

I’m not really friends with the low brass cliche that much, but one of the guys is my secret twin because we are born on the same day and the same year and we are both the exact same age, so YEET.

Yeah I dunno why I keep saying yeet so much, I just love it!

SO after that, we formed a line to walk onto the stage thingy, I guess I was the leader of the group which meant I had to lead everyone onto the stage which was terrifying.

The beginner band went first.

Even though this wasn’t my first band concert, I was very nervous because this time we had to stand up for solos and bow, meaning that the stand would no longer be able to hide my face and keep me anonymous so that no one had to know that I, Ava was the girl who kept squeaking on her clarinet.

Also sorry for this post being messy, I just really wanted to keep it simple and “chatty”

✧during the concert✧

So we all sat down, adjusted our stands (aka positioned the stands so that no one could see our faces)

The first song we played was called Buglers Dream, Its an Olympic anthem and sounds really pretty.

Then we had the first set of solos.

I did a solo which I was very worried about because it had a kind of difficult note in it.

I don’t even remember how it went because I think I played it too fast. oOf

Then we played engines of change, its a really cool song.

Then there was another set of solos, including the woodwind solo, (which I was apart of)

It was an adaptation of Erie Canal, which is actually a song I used to sing when I was little.

I HAVE A MULE her NAME IS SAL 15 miles DOWN THE ERIE CANAL.

Of course, it sounded way better than five-year-old me trying to sing

Then we finished with the song Bandroom Boogie. I felt really happy because everything sounded mostly good. We were playing real songs. Last year we played simple songs like Twinkle Twinkle and Mary Had a Little Lamb. I was so proud of myself because I had improved so much and I had overcome so big struggles I had with the clarinet.

Then the Intermediate and the Advanced played their songs and they sounded really awesome. Plus they had flutes and percussion so everything sounded more… magical?

then it ended,

✧after the concert✧

After the concert, there were some snacks and cookies and drinks out. My friends and I all congratulated each other and made vine references. I dropped my cookies. Twice.

YOU ALMOST MADE ME DROP MY CROISSANT *cookie*

IT was all fun and jolly. After a half hour of eating, talking about vines (and tom holland my precious spidey boi) we left.

The concert went really well, and it shows me that hard work and pushing through really has a great outcome.

My little clarinet has taught me so much these past few months and I love it a lot.

✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧✧

Thank you so much for reading my little chatty post, If you liked it please tell me, I think I would like to do this again. It’s so relaxing just typing up my thoughts and not worrying about making a “perfect and professional’ blog post.

✧do you guys play any instruments?✧ have you ever been in a concert? what’s your favorite instrument?✧
