Welcome back to my itsy-bitsy corner of the web! I hope you are all doing well and staying safe! ❤

I’m sorry I haven’t posted in FOREVER. I always have meant to write a post, but I’ve gotten really conscious about my blog and always would procrastinate writing a post. I was worried my followers didn’t like reading my posts and such, but now I will start blogging for myself and not worrying about what others thought! Anyways, let’s get into today’s post!

Because of the Coronavirus many of us have been quarantining and have to stay in the house! I haven’t really left the house at all recently, aside from taking an occasional walk around the neighborhood. My mum orders groceries instead of going to the store, and we have been spending our days locked inside.

It can get a bit gloomy. Even for me, someone who used to prefer avoiding humans. Now I really want to see my friends and I REALLY want to go to the library hehe. It’s one of my favorite places and like many other places its shut down.

♡

Anyways! In today’s post, I will be sharing some ways to feel happier and have more fun while quarantining!

♡- play outside!

Although it sounds silly, playing outside has made me feel a lot happier. It’s so nice going outside and feeling the fresh air, and its also a fun way to bond with your siblings if you have any! You can talk walks, ride your bike, play on your playset, play Frisbee or soccer or basketball. It’s even fun to just sit outside with some tea and read a book!

♡- work on some projects

Have you ever had a big idea or something you wanted to create or accomplish? Well, this is the perfect time to work on that! With activities canceled, you have more free time to finally get started on those projects. I’ve been able to do more commissions and outline some novel ideas I’ve had!

♡- learn something new!

This is a great time to try something new that you have always wanted to try! Such as a language or instrument. Recently I have gotten into K-Pop, especially a group called BTS, their music inspired me to learn some Korean! I’ve also been learning the art of the kazoo. I hope to be a world-famous kazooer one-day xD

♡- bake!

This is totally random but baking has been such a great escape for me! I have always loved baking and recently I’ve been baking a lot more with my Mum! It’s so much fun and tastes good too!

♡- watch a happy movie!

Movies are really nice to watch! I love watching cute Disney movies, or musical movies. The other day my family and I rewatched the sound of music! It was really fun singing along to all the songs! So watch something that makes you smile or laugh!

♡- write some letters!

Writing letters is so much fun and feels so nice! It’s so lovely writing out special messages to friends and family. I love decorating my letters with doodles, stickers and washi tape! ❤

July recap// books, goals and me wondering how its already almost the end of summer

So I just realized that it’s August 6th and I am kind of freaking out.

I feel like summer just started and now its already about to end. And guys, This is the last summer of the 2010s next summer will be a roaring 20s summer. Isn’t that crazy?

Anyways, it’s a new month and you know what that means! A monthly recap!

Books I read last month

If your one of my regular readers then you may be aware that I am obsessed with books! I read quite a lot of great books this month! Here they are!!

My favorite books I read out of all of these is probably I love you so Mochi. Its a cute and unique book and I loved it! Totally would reread if I didn’t have so many books on my TBR list!

5 easy ways to boost productivity! + free to-do list printable

Today’s post is all about how to boost productivity and get more done in less time.

1. Set a Timer

Estimate the time you need to tackle different tasks and set a timer for each of your tasks. When it comes to the time limit, move on to another task.

2. Eliminate All Distractions

I recommend putting your phone on airplane mode or turning off your notifications. If you’re using a computer to work on a project close out all the other applications. Try to go to a quiet place or alert the people around you to not bother you.

3. Listen to Music

Distractions should be avoided, but sometimes a bit of music in the background can help you focus.

Of course, it doesn’t need to be the Hamilton cast recording on full blast, but a bit of Beethoven may do you some good. If you’re not a fan of classical music, there are plenty of relaxing, lofi study playlists on youtube. The songs are really nice and it does help you focus.

4. Take a break from technology

The Internet has become one of the number one distraction. To increase your productivity, try to do as much of your work offline as possible.

I find it easier to brainstorm with pen and paper than on a notes app, because not only is it relaxing, it’s easier to stay focused on.

5. Just Start

Often times, starting is the hardest part. People often wait for the perfect time to start a project, but usually, there is no perfect time, and they are really just procrastinating and they never start.

Once you get started, you will quickly get into a rhythm that could last for hours!

The last thing I have for you guys is a little printable to-do list/ planner. This is great for jotting down things to do and planning your day out.

Oops; a series of mistakes

Ashers POV

It was a few days before Christmas, I was walking around, taking photography until I heard a sound, a gunshot. I shivered, my hands shaking. I began to slowly walk closer to where the sound came from. It was getting darker, the sun was setting and I could see the faint glow of the Christmas lights, twinkling from the houses behind me. I was leaving my little town and entering the deep meadows.

All of a sudden I heard someone shout, “Did you just shoot down, and possibly kill, Santa?” I jerked my head to towards the voice, I felt like laughing. One, Santa doesn’t even exist and Two why would he be roaming around here?

“Sorry…?” I heard a voice mumble.

“I told you not to bring the laser gun! A glitch can always happen when the chemicals from earth mix with the rays inside of the gun!”

“And how would I possibly know that?!”

There was a sigh,”If you had taken the Earth safety test!”

I was dumbfounded, were they from another planet? I tiptoed closer to the voices and I could see the shadows of a boy and a girl. The girl was holding a laser gun and next to them lying on the grassy meadows was a rather plump man that I assumed was ‘Santa‘.

I lifted my camera and took a picture, but instead of capturing the creatures, a bright white light flashed in my eye, I had the camera facing the wrong way. “Oops” I whispered to myself. All of a sudden everything starting twisting and turning, and then it went black.

Novas POV

I really hadn’t meant to shoot down Santa, I didn’t even pull the trigger, somehow it just shot him. Chase was glaring down at me.

“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean too!”

“Is that your new catchphrase?” He asked, frowning.

I raised an eyebrow, unsure what he meant.

“UGH!” He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes,”C’mon, we need to get outta here.”

“But, we can’t just leave him here!” I pleaded, “We HAVE to help him.

“And go to jail? No one will believe that it was supposedly accidental”

“Wait.” I swallowed back a few tears, “You don’t believe me?”

He looked away and let out a soft sigh,”I-I do but…”

“But what?!” I shouted.

“Nova. There’s something I need to tell you…”

A light flashed from ahead of them and they looked down the hill, spotting a camera. My antenna buzzed and soon I drained the light from the moon.

“Whats Happening?!” I asked, worried.

“Run! As fast as you can!”

Ashers POV

I wake up to the sharp pines of grass, wait. Why is the grass so tall?

I slowly get up and brush off the dirt and mud. I look up at my camera. WAIT. WHY IS MY CAMERA A MILLION TIMES BIGGER THAN ME! The sun begins to rise, I must have been knocked out for a pretty long time.

I look inside the camera lenses, I can literally fit inside of them. “WOW! how did this happen?” Even though being small is cool, I still have a life! My parents must be worried sick about me. How will I get big again?! I find a needle on the ground and I pick it up, using it as a sword. I’ve been through these meadows many times, but I’ve never been so close up to it. It’s a whole new perspective!

I look around in awe at how big all the plants are.

Maybe shrinking wasn’t so bad after all.

Novas POV

I wake up in a wet and cold cell, hearing sounds from a television nearby.

“Have you seen the headline of today’s newspaper? Christmas is back!” The female news reporter spoke,” Mr. Claus was reported to be found somewhere in the middle of Casper Meadows, in the middle of a Meadow” She laughed and continued to speak, I blocked out her voice and turned over to Chase,”W-where are we?” I coughed softly.

“I-I turned us in like you said. Mr. Claus is in the hospital recovering.” He replied.

I smiled at him, being in jail wasn’t my ideal situation, but It felt good to know that he was safe. I pulled off the hood of my sweatshirt, which managed to cover my antennae, it glowed and pulled the luminance from the room.

“Oh No! It’s happening again!” I cried. “Why is this happening?!”

“Nova, I’ve been meaning to tell you this,” He paused,”You have special powers…”

“What do you mean?!”

“And I-I’m a robot! and you’re draining my power away…”

“What?!” then all of a sudden my antennae glow is even stronger and it sucks away the light from and Chase. The only person that cared about me.

“CHASE! NO!” He closes his eyes and lets out his last synthetic breath softly whispering,”Goodbye, my Novabelle…” and the sun lost its brightness, and the whole universe went black, and so did my heart…

Hello! I am back with another entry!

This is my team:

I used two prompts, three drawings, and one photograph. I used my team’s name, Meadows= 8 points

The Letter

Asher’s Point of View

“Oh my, this would look so cute on you!” Millie squealed pointing at a black kitten onesie.

REALLY bad drawing I made of a onesie, (it looks a lot better than this)

I let out a soft chuckle, amused. That was the one-millionth thing she had squealed about today. Every second she would dart across the mall and squeal about something. “Okay, that’s enough squealing for today…” I smiled, letting out a soft yawn.

“Okay, fine. It’s just that I haven’t been to a mall in ages!” She laughs.

We wander around the mall for another hour and then we head to the cash register and checkout. The cashier is a young, bubbly girl with bright blue hair. When she sees Millie, she gasps.

“MILLIE!”She shouts, running over and hugging her.

“AISLING!” She shouts back, hugging her.

I just stand there awkwardly. “Oh, Asher, This is my friend Aisling!” Millie smiles, “Aisling, this is my husband Asher!”

“YOUR MARRIED?!” She shouts, so loud the whole mall probably could hear.

“YEAH!!!”

“But, you’re so young!”

“I am not, I am twenty-four and Asher is twenty-seven.”

“That is still REALLY young!”

“Okay guys, please calm down. It’s nice to meet you Aisling,” I smile, outstretching my hand. She reaches for it and shakes it, very hard. She and Millie are practically twins, they are very enthusiastic, very bubbly, and veryyyyyyy dramatic.

Aisling looks over at Millie’s stomach, which currently, is a bump.

“Whoa! ARE YOU PREGNANT!?” She squeals.

“YESSSSSSSSSSS!”

“REALLY!? CAN I HELP YOU PLAN A BABY SHOWER?!”

“YESSSSSS YAYYY!” They are practically jumping around and dancing.

“What do you guys think you are going to name the baby?”

“Astrid! We will name her Astrid.”

“And if its a boy,” I interrupt, “We will name him Blake.”

“I HOPE ITS A GIRL!!” Aisling squeals.

“MEEEE TOOO!” Millie squeals even louder.

I roll my eyes, I really don’t care if the baby is a boy or a girl, as long as its healthy.

“Millie, I really think we should get going,” I glance at my watch and let out a soft sigh.

Aisling hands Millie a postcard with a man riding giant chickens in a bright meadow on it. “I meant to give this to you years ago.”

I laugh, very hard. The photo was so amusing, I just couldn’t maintain a straight face. After finally checking out, we arrive back home.

Millie’s Point Of View

“I cannot believe I saw Aisling there! I haven’t seen her for years!” I smile

“That’s wonderful Millie, but can you try not to squeal so much, so loudly? The whole mall doesn’t need to know that your twenty-three.” Asher says, going through the mail. He pulls a letter out that says; “URGENT MESSAGE”

He starts to read it and his face turns to a worried expression, “Millie…?”

“Yeah, Whats wrong…?”

He opens his mouth to speak, then closes it, letting out a sad sigh.

“What-what happened…?!” I ask, confused, worried and frightened.

He looks at over at the window, outside into the rain, as if it would take away his worry and fear. “M-Millie… you aren’t from Adreinelle…?”

I start to feel sick, how did they find out, why? My life was finally perfect. I look down and take a deep breath, “No, I am not from Adrienelle, I am from, Latraion…”

“They want to execute you… we need to flee!”

I feel tears sprouting from my eyes,”No… how-? How did they find out?”

“I-I don’t know… but why did you flee your country…?”

I let out a sigh and wipe my tearstreaked face,”…Latraion used to be a beautiful place full of peace, love, and happiness. Until the loving president died and a new president was chosen. He was bitter and manipulative, playing with peoples minds and encouraging them to make the wrong choices. Leaders we trusted, turned evil, family members joined his side, oppressing others. My parents were weak and tired, I tried to save them, but… they died.”

“I-I’m so sorry, Millie…” He says, wrapping his arms around me and hugging me tightly.

“…So I came here, to get a new start… I didn’t think that anyone would notice, anyone would find out…” I say softly, a few more tears running down my face.

He gently strokes my forehead,”Shhh… It’s okay…” he whispers.

“…But everything is not okay…” I whisper back.

He opens his mouth to speak, but before he can, there is a huge banging noise at the door. My heartbeat quickens, and I feel petrified.

“Hide!” He whisper-shouts. But I can’t move, not even an inch.

Within seconds the door falls to the ground. I squeeze my eyes shut, tears streaming down my cheeks, paralyzed by my fear.
